By downloading, installing, or using NovellaShot (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

NovellaShot provides:

  • Novel Reading: Access to a library of novels, including public domain and licensed content.
  • Short-Form Videos: A platform to discover, watch, and interact with short videos (“Shorts”).
  • User Features: Bookmarking, reading lists, comments, ratings, and personalized recommendations.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU) to use NovellaShot. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. User Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

5. Content and Intellectual Property

5.1 NovellaShot Content

All content provided by NovellaShot, including novels, short videos, software, text, graphics, and logos, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.

5.2 Novel Content

  • Public Domain Works: Certain novels are sourced from public domain collections and are free to read.
  • Licensed Content: Other novels are licensed from authors or publishers and are subject to their respective terms.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any novel content without authorization.

5.3 Short Video Content

Short videos are provided by content creators or licensed partners. You may not download, redistribute, or commercially exploit short videos without permission.

5.4 User-Generated Content

By posting comments, reviews, or other content, you grant NovellaShot a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute such content in connection with the App.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • Attempt to access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the App.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers.
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the App without permission.
  • Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  • Collect or harvest personal information of other users.

7. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

NovellaShot may offer in-app purchases, including:

  • Premium subscriptions for ad-free reading/watching.
  • Chapter unlocks for serialized novels.
  • Virtual goods or tipping features.

All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law or at our sole discretion. Subscription fees are charged to your payment method on a recurring basis until cancelled.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

NovellaShot is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
  • Content will be accurate, complete, or current.
  • Any defects will be corrected.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NovellaShot and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NovellaShot, its affiliates, and their respective officers from any claims arising out of your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Copyright Complaints

If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed, please contact us at support@cobaltsharp.com with: (a) your contact info, (b) description of the work, (c) the infringing material’s location, (d) a statement of good faith, (e) a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury.
